Vinyasa Yoga
Movement, breath and flow as one
What happens in a Vinyasa class
Unlike Hatha, where poses are held for several breaths, Vinyasa keeps you moving. Each transition is intentional: the breath leads and the body follows. Classes typically open with a warm-up, move through a dynamic standing sequence, and wind down with floor work and a final relaxation. No two classes are identical, which keeps the practice fresh and challenges the body in different ways each time.

What it asks of you physically
Vinyasa is an active practice. It builds cardiovascular fitness alongside strength and flexibility. Your core works continuously, your legs get a serious workout in standing sequences, and your shoulders and arms carry load in poses like plank and downward dog.
Intensity varies between teachers and class levels. If you are new to yoga, a few Hatha classes first gives you a useful foundation, but it is not a requirement. Our teachers modify for all levels.
The breath is not optional
This is what separates Vinyasa from a general fitness class. The breath is the structure the whole practice is built on. When you lose it, when movement gets ahead of breath, you are no longer doing Vinyasa, you are just moving fast. Staying connected to the breath even when the sequence gets challenging is one of the core skills the practice develops.
Regular practice builds whole-body strength and flexibility. The continuous movement combined with breath awareness leaves most people feeling clearer and less tense than when they arrived, not because they zoned out, but because sustained focus leaves little room for the usual mental noise.
For people managing stress or restless energy, Vinyasa gives that energy somewhere useful to go.
Vinyasa at The Yoga Rescue
Our classes are taught by teachers who pay attention to both the physical and the breath side of the practice. Modifications are always offered so the class works for different levels.
