Ashtanga

Ashtanga Yoga at The Yoga Rescue

Ashtanga yoga is a traditional style yoga. It is physically demanding and characterized by a specific sequence of postures (asanas) done in a defined order, synchronized with breathwork. It incorporates meditation and chanting and is based on the eight limbs of yoga as described by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras.

Ashtanga yoga is known for its ability to build strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular health, as well as promote mental clarity and stress relief.

The type of yoga that typically comes to mind when you think of yoga. It involves breathing, yoga poses and meditation. A Flow class ads a dynamic to it where you ‘flow’ from one pose to the next with some pauses for added instructions and teacher demonstration.

Inside Flow is a revolutionary vinyasa flow. Music drives the Inside Flow yoga classes and frame the whole sequence. The Yoga Rescue - Vinyasa

In Vinyasa classes we coordinate the movement with breath to flow from one pose to the next, the term is also used to describe a specific sequence of poses (Chaturanga to upward-facing dog to downward-facing dog), commonly used throughout a vinyasa class.

typical Wheel Yoga class uses a wheel prop to allow for a deeper stretch.

The class is a slower, mindful practice that helps to release tension, improve flexibility, and increase body awareness. Using the wheel allows to move with intention and respect for your own pace.
