A week-long yoga retreat in Bali, where we combine daily yoga with attention, time and space for you to fully immerse yourself in vacation mode.Â
It’s time to get away from all the daily routines that have taken over, and finally start creating space to take care of yourself properly. You might discover a lot of new things, both internally and externally, the moment you start listening more to the sounds that resonate within you.
Take advantage of all this free time in a new environment to have a ‘beginners’ mind – approaching everything with openness, eagerness and a lack of preconceptions – just as a beginner would look at the world around them.
We are looking forward to welcoming you at one of the yoga retreat weeks in Bali at Alila Manggis.
Book now while we still have space available and start looking forward to that well-deserved me-time.

Blessed with gorgeous panoramic oceans capes, Bali’s eastern coast is a popular destination among tourists seeking to catch the most amazing sunrises and sunsets. The seas here are as calm as a lagoon when you visit just before dawn. Rent our Jukung a traditional wooden boat, and cast off from the beach out on to the water to witness one of the most beautiful sunrises across the whole island. Marvel the view from the ocean of majestic Mount Agung being bathed in the first light of day as you pass by the three small Gili islands off the coast of Candidasa.
Alternatively, instead of Chasing the SunRISE, head out later as daylight wanes and watch the sky transform into a brilliant mural of sunset hues. You’ll return to shore with not just beautiful pictures but memories of a truly magical experience. What better way to end your day?
Ride our Jukung just across from the hotel to a small but colorful reef just off the coastline, or be driven by car to the Blue Lagoon area The first trip leaves at 9 am and the second at 11 am, subject to suitable sea and weather conditions. Life vests are also available upon request.
Visit "Pura Ayu" located in the village of Ngis under the Lempuyang hill for a marvellous and awe inspiring experience. Continue ridding through the countryside, rice fields, and some fertile fields that will create a peaceful feeling. At the end of the journey we will savor fresh young coconut and fresh grilled fish for lunch at a white sandy beach.
Enjoy the thrill of the catch! Jump aboard our traditional Jukung and head out to the deep water fishing area around the Nusa Penida Strait, a playground for angling small tuna fish, red snappers, jackfish and many other deep water creatures. If you prefer bottom fishing, Snappers, blue coral fish and scribbled filefish are teeming under the sea. You can also bring along your own snorkeling gear to enjoy some deep sea swimming.
This trek crosses through numerous rice terraces and small farms allowing you to truly appreciate the native landscape of Bali. The trek also takes you up and over a number of hills that offer great views to the sea, before finishing at the fascinating ‘Bali Age’ village of Tenganan famous for its double Ikat weaving and unique basket making.
Visit the doctor, Bali style! Meet the Balian Healer, a spiritually gifted man known as the local Balinese Balian or healer from Perasi Village, East Bali. The Balian has been the focal point of healing in Bali for centuries, usually using herbs for massage to heal your aches and pains.
Join us in the Balinese Hindu rituals with a Purification at Tirta Sudamala. A cleansing ritual using spring water within the temple to get rid off physical and non physical impurities. The Balinese Hindus use this holy water not only to purify the body, but also for the purification of valuable things such as buildings, vehicles and other equipment.
An unforgettable spiritual trek to the holy hill called Lempuyang. Start your trek at Jumenang from where you can see Mount Agung and Lombok island. Receive a blessing at a small temple before stepping on to the holy mountain and continuing through Pandan Forest where you will see many kinds of tropical botanicals and animals. On reaching the top of Lempuyang Hill, rest and enjoy the view. Our concierge will assist you to dress in full traditional Balinese sarong in preparation to visit this special temple, Lempuyang Luhur and meet the local priest for a Hindu blessing. Afterwards, as you climb the many steps down again, our concierge will share with you the unique story of holy water in the holy bamboo of the temple.
Understand how the cycle of daily life translates to the plate in traditional Balinese dishes. After an early morning breakfast, experience the amazing sights, sounds and aromas of Klungkung market, one of the busiest village markets in East Bali. Then head to our organic garden just 10 minutes from the hotel, hidden below the foothills of Mount Agung overlooking the sea to grow your awareness of sustainable farming which is sure to stimulate your appetite for a healthier, balanced lifestyle.
