The Melukat Ritual – Balinese Ceremony
A half-day trip to experience the Hindu Melukat Ritual with Puspa.
A Melukat is a spiritual ritual. It is part of the Hindu Manusa Yadnya ceremony, with the purpose to cleanse and purify the human body. This is as opposed to the ceremony for cleaning and purifying temples and buildings.
Implementing the Melukat ritual in our lives is one of the efforts to cleanse and purify our body, mind, and soul.
Melukat comes from the Kawi-Bali word “lukat”, meaning cleaning and purifying. Within the Hindu religion, It is believed to wash away turmoil and sickness acquired from negative karma in both this life (prarabda karmaphala) and past lives (sancitq karmaphala).
Date and Time: September 10, 2023 – 9 am (meeting place The Yoga Rescue)
Destination: Pura Campuhan Windhu Segara Padanggalak, Denpasar
Ticket: IDR 375k per person *, booking in advance required.
*Price includes return transport, offerings, priest fee, water and snacks.
What to bring:
A sarong and a long scarf to use as a belt, to wear during the ceremony.
Make sure to wear a regular shirt that covers your shoulders.
A set of dry clothes.
Your own bottle with drinking water.
Please note: For women who are menstruating it is not possible to enter the temple.
